John Stonard

John Stonard leads the Design and Projects team within Leeds City Council’s Planning Service - providing specialist advice within planning and across the wider council; helping to shape future development and to deliver a portfolio of physical projects.

John has a background in planning, landscape architecture, urban design and conservation. He has worked for Historic England, CABE within the private sector and spent ten years as Urban and Environmental Design Manager with Sheffield City Council overseeing a series of award-winning public realm and regeneration projects.

John is a member of the Places Matter and Enfield design review panels.
